Lofi Lovin!
I will never forget when I first found out about the look coined “lomography”. I didn’t know it was a “thing”, but I knew I had an instant connection to it, as it made me think of times when things in my journey weren’t as complicated with photography, and I would just grab a quick snap of something that caught my eye! Lomography is about being spontaneous, loving the imperfections, just shoot, don’t think too much (sound familiar from last week’s blog installments?), and embracing the raw and rough images created with “quirky cameras by the camera manufacturer Lomo”. I could look at lomo images for hours, literally, and be drawn into the world of what I was seeing in the photos. They are real, typically very “in the moment” vibes, something I might have taken when I was younger and more carefree. I think this is what drew me back into the “LOFI” look!
Last year, I saw a camera that Lomography made, called the Diana Instant Square. I snapped that baby up before my credit card could complain about yet ANOTHER camera purchase!! It took a minute to get used to her, how she shot, how to set the camera for the results I craved, but once I got it, there was no turning back. I love this camera and all its weirdness, vignettes and bright on camera flash to boldly illuminate your subject and send the rest into dark shadows.
Being this is a way of shooting that I throroughly LOVEEEE, I thought it would be fun to share some recent images to take you into that world of Lofi yumminess!
I love a lot of different kinds of look in photography, but Lofi/lomography has to be one of my all time favorites. It’s just so real.
I hope you enjoyed this peek into the look if you aren’t familiar with it! Did you have a favorite image that I shared?
I am glad we are heading back to warmer temps after today!! I am guessing my Colorado friends are happy about that also!!
Unti next time, love and health to all!!!
