Taking the leap! New beginnings all around!

Dylan and Kally

You may be thinking that the title for the blog is purely because this is an engagement session, but it also has another meaning. This is the first paid session where I have made the decision to not only shoot digitally, but to also bring along my film camera again, as that is where it all began for me, and where my heart is right now! There is a place for both in my professional portrait work, but it felt exhilarating to say the least, to grab the beast along for THIS session in particular. First time shooting it in a session since switching to digital back in 2006!!

Back to the stars of the show…this was a FUN day for these two. Dylan had planned a scavenger hunt for his girlfriend, that ultimately led the couple to Three Sisters park in Evergreen, where myself, both their parents and siblings (and significant others) were secretly waiting to share in the surprise! It was beautiful, he was SUPER romantic, and she looked incredible and so in love with the man she would say yes to that day!!

This is just a small sampling of the beauty I got to experience on this very special day with Dylan and Kally!!

This was a beautiful location, beautiful people and a moment to remember! I was so pleased with what we got together, and I was so grateful for the patience they had for my slow camera with manual focus, and an old camera that took some extra time compared to the fast pace of digital. The benefit, they had a moment to themselves, to have a true connection, that I could capture once my shot was ready, and it felt so very real!

Congratulations to the happy couple!!

Health and love to you all, and thank you for being here! It is never unnoticed and always appreciated!!
