Babies. Babies can help us be better adults. The new responsibilities they bring, the unrelenting love we feel, the protective nature we now have for another human being, in a way so intense that you can never imagine it until you live it. I love what my babies brought to MY own life. This one reason I love to photograph these semi fragile little creatures shortly after they have made their impact on our lives, one that will never be lost.
This is Kenna. Born during a pandemic. Mom and dad were so perfectly in tune to how to give her the very best opportunity to come into this world safely.
Kourtney, Buddy and I met a month earlier to be sure that Kourtney’s sweet round belly was in the forever memory books too. Our session was a ton of fun, Kourtney looked amazing and radiant, and both Kourt and Buddy were anxious to meet their baby girl. We knew we would meet for photos, but had no idea how it would look with all the necessary precautions that we would need to follow to keep her, and the new parents perfectly safe.
We met at their home, and mostly shot outside and THANK GOODNESS for a summer birth lol. The day was warm but not hot, Kenna was hungry 90% of the time lol, so we would shoot, feed, shoot, feed….and so on! We also had access to a bedroom, with a window to the outdoors…I jumped on the opportunity to switch things up and capture some intimate moments where truly, I was a fly on the wall. While they were inside, and me outside, we communicated through the phone, and kept a now sleepy baby happy.
I have talked enough….here is beautiful baby girl in all her glory!
Working around restrictions wasn’t ideal, but continuing to capture memories, memories that are fleeting, are soo important, ESPECIALLY during a time when life seems so different, and in a state of flux.
Thank you to Kourtney, Buddy and Kennedy for allowing me into your safe space (safely lol) to be a part of this HUGELY important time in your lives. She is such a beautiful little addition and will be love beyond all else!!
