To teach, inspire or document....?
I sit down weekly to write this blog, and I must be honest that the topic doesn’t always come easy to me. Often times I have sessions that I want to share and showcase, that’s simple, and I feel like my readers enjoy that. But when I want to move away from that for a week or two, I can feel a little lost. I mean, my hope is that I can provide something that will be intriguing, interesting or just peak your curiosity enough to have you WANT to come back each week to check in.
What I have found myself doing here, is documenting life. My life in particular. How I think, what I enjoy shooting, risks and new directions that I am taking are all up for grabs. I know there are a lot of how to blogs, blogs that will provide valuable product reviews or business tips, but I have really enjoyed sharing the nuances of what’s tops on my mind at the time, or what I’m shooting personally.
I believe that maybe things evolve into what they should be. I started this blog in January of 2017 and have been consistently putting out 4 blogs a month with the exception of a few months where I may have had a vacation or something else that just limited my ability to add blogging to my plate. When I look back at what I have blogged about, I can see the progression and changes that have come most naturally, so this is where I intend to sit for a bit, until something else moves me to take another fork in the road!
A few weeks ago, Chris and I made another trip to my beloved Denver Botanic Gardens where we had a FEAST for the eyes, all the flowers were in full bloom. The day was absolutely perfect even though the forecast had been for upper 90s and rain. I love that every time we get there, we are treated with a different version of the location, so there is always something new and beautiful to turn my camera onto!
Below is a photo essay of what we saw! ** click on the thumbnails to enlarge!
When we walked in I new instantly it would be a vastly different experience that the last time we visited in mid spring. All kinds of desert plants, some blooming, some overflowing with green.
Yellows were everywhere! I LOVE yellow flowers!
Reflections…SO many cool reflections in the still water (and glass lol).
To wrap up our adventure to the land of colors, I was infatuated with the pinks and greens in this bush! The colors were absolutely phenomenal and so calming! I shot one frame on each camera, with different film stocks and got very different tones for each! No touch ups, just true bad ass film colors! THIS, is one thing I love about film!
So below, I am going to include a whole BUNCH of random images that I just didn’t want to leave out! Let’s face it, I am an over sharer when it comes to photos… I understand that often times less is more, but when it comes to my photos, more is always better TO ME!! lol
In conclusion….haha…I hope that you enjoy what I present. I ALWAYS love to hear your feedback, even if it’s not a glowing review. I feel like we can absolutely get a take away from people’s opinions, even if they aren’t the same as ours. So speak up!! IN favor or not in favor, I will listen!
Until next week…
