Montana - 2022
Chris and I recently were able to make a second weekend trip to Missoula to visit Hannah! I really like Missoula. It’s small but not too small. Has fun restaurants and there are many many things to do, in and close to the city. This time our big adventure was to Garnet Ghost town, in addition to the happenstance that the street festival we came across last time, was happening again this time!! Live music, food trucks, art vendors and the most perfect weather we could have asked for….all made for a really fun evening!
This will be my typical overshare of images from my travels. I can’t help myself. I try to keep it smaller but in the end, I am wanting a lasting little online recap and just can’t bring myself to leave out any favorites, of which there appear to be many lol.
Captions will be providing most description of how things unfolded!
We hit the downtown area to check out the festival in addition to getting BBQ!! yummmmmm. Lots of fun people watching, music listening, donut eating and art buying! Oh and we did stop in the local used camera store too, juuussstttt to see what he had ;-).
We just checked out the camera store and deciding where to go next!
Searching for food!
The art fair...turns out Hannah sewed these pillows for this photographer!! I bought some prints!!

A good night sleep was had by all, and we got up early to grab Veera Donuts! It took us all day to eat 2 donuts but wow are they GOOD!!! …and large lol!
A coffee stop was next, then we headed up to Garnet Ghost town! First time for all of us!!

An hour away from Missoula, and a great road heading up to the actual site which had some surprises along the way!
surprise #1! I was NOT expecting to see cows 2 feet from the cars!!!
This gal was not too interested in me.
This one, a little more interested!
We were the 2nd and 3rd cars to park and we noted later on, it's lucky we came as early as we did!

I wanted to include about 20 photos of Hannah in these fields.
Everything clicked, but I just picked a few of my favorites to include here.

Taking a rest out of the sun.
More Pola fun of these two.
On our drive back home, we stopped to see a small grave site of 5 miners who died in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. We paid our respects and moved along.
The evening that we got back from our adventure, Hannah, Chris and I hung out by the river that went by the hotel. The rocks were such an incredible variety of colors! We stayed there through dusk!
We were fueled up from dinner, and we decided to head down after a quick rest.
The setting sun left a beautiful warm glow on the hills.
We watched people jump from this bridge to the water below...heck no!!

The sunset was pretty incredible, taking phone pics here!

Since Hannah goes to school here, I really wanted to make the hike up to the M on the hill! She agreed to hike it with me! It was pretty cool to get to the top and be able to see ALL of Missoula!!
Before we started!

A glass selfie on the way out!
I guess that’s about a wrap! I shot a TON of film on this trip, and Chris AND Hannah shot a ton of digital! As you can see I was experiementing a lot with my film cameras. If the photos look soft and fuzzy, this was partly intentional, partly just how it came out, but I included them regardless If they said had something to add to my story.
Thank you for coming along for the ride!! We had a great time and will be excited to see the next cool place when we go back!!
I’ll wrap up my writing here and end with a couple photos!
Until next time, peace and love to all!
