Weddings, Hiking and Vegas, OH MY!
Halloween was upon us, and we had a wedding to get to! My oldest step daughter Tabbitha and her fiance Jon were getting married, in Vegas, ON Halloween!! We packed our bags, and plenty of cameras, and headed out!
Vegas is a bunch of sensory overload for me. We were super excited for the big event, but also wanted to be sure to get out of the city during the down times! We stayed downtown at the older Golden Nugget (I remember booking Vegas trips for customers during my time as a travel agent and Golden Nugget was a hot ticket back in the day!), and had a most fabulous suite to relax and recharge in! We had some time to kill on the big day as the wedding was happening late that evening, so we took the opportunity to drive out to Valley of Fire with cameras in hand!! (Those pics will come in a second batch below).
On this adventure, there were lots of short little excursions, around a mile to 1.5 miles loop or out and back, so we ended up seeing 3-4 different spots! Super beautiful and lucky for us, the weather could not have been more perfect! I was shooting with a couple of films I was familiar with, in addition to a NEW film, literally new to the market (actually newly brought BACK into production), called Lomo Turquoise! I was intimidated by it 100%, but by the recommendation of my friend Denise, she encouraged me to go with the Lomo motto and “don’t think, just shoot”!
I will start with some fun pics from day 1. We checked out the hotel, had a really nice pre-wedding dinner as a group, and strolled Fremont street that evening. It was a big Halloween event for 4 days and while that night was lively, it didn’t hold a candle to Halloween night itself. I am noting below each pic if the pics were shot on my films (both weird and normal) for my fellow film nerds that care about that kind of stuff lol.

Onto day 2, Halloween day and the day of the big event!! We did get a decent night’s sleep, and were up at the crack of dawn to try to make sunrise in the Valley…we didn’t quite make it but weren’t too far behind!! Photos of ALLL the gorgeousness below! It was super cool out there!

After our explorations, we made it back, showered and got ready for Tabb and Jon’s big day! They had a most beautiful wedding at a really cute little chapel super close to the hotel, and after that, we headed to Halloween night on Fremont street to celebrate with them! I will include just a handful of photos Chris and I took! It was packed wall to wall with people in costume and having a great time!

All in all we had a REALLY great trip! The wedding was super beautiful and felt so wonderful to be a part of, and then getting to celebrate with the newlyweds was the most fun ever!! We stayed up WAY too late, but it was worth every minute!!
Thanks for coming along on the ride of this special event in our little world!
Until next time,
love and health to all!!
